How is storage allocation calculated?
Your project storage allocation is calculated based on the following inputs:
All qualifying institutions will have a minimum of 100 TB of pooled cloud storage shared by their organization.
Google Workspace for Education Standard and Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals customers will receive 100 TB pooled storage.
For each license of the Google Workspace for Education Teaching and Learning Upgrade, an additional 100 GB is added to the shared pool.
For every license of Google Workspace for Education Plus edition, an additional 20 GB is added to the shared pool.
Customers continuing on legacy G Suite Enterprise for Education licenses will also have 100 GB added to their shared pool per paid employee license.
Institutions with greater than 20,000 students, faculty, and staff or 20,000 monthly active users that follow our Acceptable Use Policy qualify for additional storage. That allocation is reflected in this report.
How do I upgrade my storage?

How do I reduce my storage?
There’s a few things you can do today to plan for your storage needs including checking available storage, understanding current utilization, and planning for change.
Specifically, if you are planning for change and looking to reduce your cloud storage, you can evaluate if you’re using Google Drive as long-term object storage and consider using Google Cloud Storage instead, review retention policies, control Shared Drives, delete old accounts and Shared Drives, delete duplicate content, and evaluate alumni account practices.
